SkyFire Energy is hiring Solar Installers (Entry Level or Electrical Apprentice) in West Kelowna, BC. This full-time role offers on-site training and potential indenture opportunities as you start a career in solar and electrical fields.

The position supports residential and commercial projects with safety-first work practices, competitive wages, and benefits through an employee-owned, growth-oriented company.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs.
• Comfortable working on slopes/roofs and heights.
• Able to work outside in all weather, year-round.
• Willing to travel out of town occasionally.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• CLB 7/Intermediate English required for safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Install solar electric systems on roofs (residential and commercial) and on ground mounts.
• Ensure crew and site safety including PPE and fall protection.
• Distribute materials and solar modules on site.
• Assemble racking and modular components with hand tools.
• Provide friendly service to customers.
• Perform site upkeep as required.

What the role offers:

Overtime options

Permanent, full-time positions (work is available 12 months of the year)

Ongoing on and off-site training

Indentureship in the electrical trade and room to grow in the company

Primary duties of the job include:

Installation of solar electric systems on various slopes of roofs of residential and commercial buildings, as well as commercial ground mount projects

Ensure crew and job site safety, including proper use of PPE and Fall Protection

Distributing material and solar modules throughout the site, including up and down ladders

Using hand tools, both manual and powered, to install racking and modular components

Helping with site upkeep as required

Providing friendly service to all customers

Qualifications (must haves):

Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs throughout the day

Comfortable working on roofs (various slopes), or just a love of heights! - previous roofing experience is considered a strong asset

Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, year-round

Willing to work out of town occasionally

Reliable transportation to and from work

CLB 7/Intermediate is the minimum English level required for safety protocol

Assets (preferred but not required):

A valid class 5 license

Prior construction/trades experience is preferred, on job training will be provided

Solar training and/or solar installation certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc)

Valid Fall Protection training/certification (otherwise provided by SkyFire)

Experience working on sloped roofs (commercial or residential)
