Job summary

Barton Malow Canada is seeking an Electrical Apprentice for the Turning Sun Project in Saskatchewan. You will work with the Journeyperson and Foreperson to wire PV solar systems, align wiring with drawings, and follow safety guidelines.

This role offers hands-on experience in renewable energy, opportunities to advance within the company, and a benefits package. A high school diploma and enrollment in an electrical apprenticeship program are preferred; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Registered in an electrical apprenticeship program.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in electrical work.
• Previous electrical experience is an asset.
• Reliable and has a strong work ethic.
• Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety guidelines.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Executing plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning PV solar systems.
• Connecting solar panels and inverters and other high-voltage equipment to the power supply.
• Assemble, install, test and maintain PV-related electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair damaged units.

HOURLY WAGE:

$27.00 - $44.00 (wage will depend upon apprenticeship level and experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical Apprentice will work closely with the Electrical Journeyperson and take direction from the Electrical Foreperson. This position will be responsible to work collaboratively to connect all the wiring between the solar panels and inverters based on the drawing specifications, while adhering to the safety guidelines. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the growth of renewable energy and gain valuable experience in the solar industry.
