Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II

About the Role

The Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs physical labor at solar energy sites near Beaumont, California. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining solar power plants following safety and maintenance standards, with an emphasis on safety and professionalism. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of Beaumont, CA.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub-station equipment.
  • Document work orders, logs, inventory, and emergency schedules.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, etc.
  • Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a strong safety background, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work independently and in teams.
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely, adhering to company policies.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial/industrial O&M on solar power plants (preferred).
  • Experience with preventative maintenance on solar utility equipment (preferred).
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment (preferred).
  • Ability to escalate issues proactively.
  • Ability to train and mentor laborers and apprentices.
  • High work ethic and initiative.
Physical and Work Environment
  • Reside within 50 miles of Beaumont, CA.
  • Work outdoors, exposed to ambient temperatures.
  • Lift/move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and be on call.
  • Travel up to 25% as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
