Job summary

Polar Racking Inc. in Mississauga, ON is hiring a Director of Construction to lead our construction services team, oversee all project phases, and ensure high-quality installations.

The role requires 7+ years in project management in the solar sector, strong leadership, and collaboration with engineering and operations to optimize costs and timelines. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Project Management, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in project management preferably in solar or related field.
• Knowledge of foundation technologies and best practices is an asset.
• Experience managing construction projects from design through completion on schedule and within budget.
• Experience in cost control and budget management on construction projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members and stakeholders.
• PMP certification is considered an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the program lifecycle of solar racking systems (carport, single axis tracker, EV charging).
• Oversee all phases from inception to completion, ensuring customer requirements are met.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure timing, cost and quality targets.
• Coordinate vendor activities to meet cost, delivery, and quality targets.
• Travel to solar sites to work with customers and provide feedback to engineering.
• Lead the local team and regional leads globally.
