Responsibilities

  • Providing technical direction to ensure software quality and development process adherence to requirements and standards.
  • Reviewing system-level designs and performing architecture, requirements, and coding verification.
  • Oversight of safety-critical, real-time software design, development and test phases.
  • Monitoring programs to ensure adherence to company and program standards.
  • Identifying issues and risks and collaborating with the team to resolve them.
  • Chairing reviews of software non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Performing software reuse and safety analyses as required.
  • Liaising with subcontractors and auditing activities.
  • Ensuring software reliability, fault tolerance and maintainability features.
  • Participating in milestone reviews, including chairing software Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Conducting audits and surveys to identify risks and define corrective actions.
  • Finding process improvements for quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.

We are currently seeking a qualified Software Assurance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, maintenance, and testing of a wide spectrum of software solutions, including safety-critical, real-time flight software solutions, simulators, and test software tools.

Location: Brampton, ON Job Type: Full-Time Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities
  • Providing technical direction and surveillance to ensure that the quality of the software and its development process adhere to program requirements and standards.
  • Reviewing system-level designs and perform software architecture, requirements, and coding verification activities.
  • Review and oversight of multiple stages of safety critical, real-time software design, development and test.
  • Monitoring programs to ensure adherence to company and program standards.
  • Identifying issues and risks and working with the software development team to resolve.
  • Chairing reviews of software non-conformances and ensuring implementation of effective corrective action.
  • Performing software re-use and safety analyses as required.
  • Subcontractor liaison and auditing activities.
  • Ensuring incorporation of software reliability, fault tolerance \& maintainability features.
  • Participating in milestone reviews, including chairing software Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Performing in-process and phase-end audits and surveys, identify risks, and agree on corrective actions.
  • Finding process improvements for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong experience in software product quality assurance.
  • Experience with Agile development (continuous integration/build automation).
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++.

Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 CAD (annual salary)

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
