Job description

Position: Software Integration Student
Number of Position(s): 1
Duration: 4 Months
Date: May 12 to Aug 29, 2025
Location: Onsite (Ottawa, Canada)

The team you will be a part of

The IP Routing division leads the industry with the best Network Processor technology (FP5), QoS, parallel processing, Network Function Virtualization, and product quality. Education Recommendations

Currently a 3rd or 4th-year candidate for a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field within an accredited school in Canada.

Qualifications
  • A background in telecommunications
  • Experience in Python and object-oriented programming
  • Experience developing applications on Linux
  • You are a fast learner and can grasp technical concepts quickly.
  • Have completed at least two co-op work terms, 4-month paid internships, or have equivalent paid work experience

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously.
Responsibilities

You will work with an experienced product development team specializing in system testing and automation. You will gain practical experience by developing scripts and procedures to test system-level software and hardware. In addition to a technical lead, you will be assigned a 1-to-1 mentor. This mentor is a resource for you to ask any questions, communicate concerns, learn about Nokia/team culture and career path, or simply have a chat about how you are getting along. This is an on-site position and requires you to be in the office.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Develop custom automation scripts to control test equipment and gather test results
  • Analyze test results and work with developers to iterate on the design
