Job summary

Olix Computing in Toronto seeks a Software Engineering Intern to help build the software stack (compiler, runtime, simulation, tooling) for the DX-1 accelerator. The 4-month term may extend to eight months, with you working as an intern/co-op on a dataflow decode architecture.

You will own scoped projects, contribute production code, and collaborate with compiler, systems, FPGA and ASIC engineers to optimize performance and measure outcomes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• Practical experience with C/C++ programming beyond coursework.
• Solid knowledge of memory hierarchies, concurrency, and performance analysis.
• Demonstrated depth in compilers or systems software.
• Familiarity with ML framework internals, low-level programming, or optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver scoped projects on the team’s roadmap with a mentor and defined outcomes.
• Contribute production code to the compiler, runtime, simulation, or developer tooling to the team’s standards.
• Apply layout, scheduling, tiling, or extend simulation to model real system behaviour more faithfully.
• Collaborate with compiler, systems, FPGA and ASIC engineers to understand device trade-offs.
• Ground conclusions in measurement and report results clearly.
