Job summary

Aptiv is offering a Software Engineering Intern role based in Ottawa. You will join a software development team supporting certification of software used in aerospace and defense applications, gaining hands-on experience with production software and DO-178C processes.

Working with senior engineers, you will contribute to requirements, design, code updates, reviews, and bug fixes, while learning rigorous development practices and building traceability across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with C or C++.
• Previous internship or relevant practical experience preferred.
• Interest in software development, software quality, and structured engineering processes.
• Availability to work on-site in the Ottawa area three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support software development and certification activities in accordance with DO-178C processes.

• Work on smaller pull requests and bug fixes with guidance from experienced team members.
• Help maintain traceability between requirements, design, and source code as part of the certification process.

• Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and active engagement with the engineering team.
