Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern in Calgary for Summer 2027. This paid full-time internship offers exposure to engineers, scientists, and technologists and potential to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

The successful candidate will support regulatory tasks, data management, and reporting, under supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders, with mentoring from experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans and specifications for client.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Overview

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Software Engineer Interests for our Summer 2027 intern program. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2027 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow.
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
