Job Title:

Software Developer – Fixed Income Trading

Location:

Toronto, ON [currently 100% remote, candidates must be able to attend occasional events and meetings]

Duration:

6 months

Contract Type:

T4 only

Pay Rate:

CA$86.20/Hour

Role Mandate:

• Build a best-in-class platform for Fixed Income trading, covering Investment Grade and High Yield bonds, to serve global clients.
• Develop a modern, adaptable, and integrated fixed income trading platform using software development best practices.
• Join as a senior developer with extensive experience in complex software solutions to support ongoing initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product managers, and support teams on both short-term and long-term goals.

Role Responsibilities Include:

• Lead development design and system integration efforts.
• Adapt designs based on trader and stakeholder feedback.
• Foster effective teamwork and stakeholder relationships.
• Create documentation such as solution diagrams and trade flows.
• Maintain and enhance current trading systems, providing support as needed.
• Conduct unit testing and participate in testing processes.
• Work on real-time messaging and application integration to improve IT capabilities.

Must-Have Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in developing complex software for large organizations.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
• Experience with high-performance, real-time streaming, and integrated systems (TCP, HTTP, MQ, FIX).
• FIX protocol expertise is essential.
• Knowledge of Java, Python, C++, Oracle database.
• Experience in Capital Markets, especially Fixed Income, Credit trading, and Rates.
• Experience with large trading platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across all levels.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with AWS software development.
