Job description

Voldex is a leading gaming company focused on Roblox, the most exciting ecosystem in gaming today. We are home to several of Roblox's top games, including Brookhaven, Driving Empire, and NFL Universe Football. With over 145 million monthly active players across our games, we are the #1 Roblox developer by audience size. Founded in 2015, we have since grown to 70 full-time remote team members across the globe.

Our strategy is to acquire and sustainably grow games on Roblox. Our acquisition strategy is backed with significant capital from firms including The Raine Group, Makers Fund, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), QIA, Dune Ventures, and MIT.

Our top games include:

  • Brookhaven, #1 Roleplay game on Roblox and the most popular game on the Roblox platform
  • Driving Empire, the #1 driving game on Roblox where we’ve brought real cars into the game in partnership with automakers
  • NFL Universe Football, the #1 American football game and top grossing sports game on Roblox.

Job Description:

Join a high-impact team building some of the top games on Roblox, played by millions every day. This is a full-time role (40+ hours/week) where you’ll collaborate with passionate game makers—designers, producers, artists, and analysts—to bring new features and ideas to life.

While this is an engineering role, we believe great ideas can come from anywhere. You’ll have a voice in design discussions, playtests, and product strategy—not just code. We move quickly, stay focused, and create space for creativity, ownership, and impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and launch features that delight millions of players daily

  • Write clean, performant, and maintainable game code

  • Partner with designers, artists, and producers to craft gameplay experiences from concept to live

  • Debug and improve existing systems in live, large-scale Roblox games

  • Playtest regularly and provide feedback on feel, balance, and polish

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years developing on Roblox / Minecraft / another UGC gaming platform, either as a hobby or professionally
  • 1+ years of experience in software development (games or related fields)
  • A strong foundation in CS fundamentals and problem-solving

  • Experience with game engines, scripting languages (Lua a plus), and version control
  • Excellent communication and a collaborative, team-first mindset

  • A passion for creating games that resonate with players

Bonus Points for:

  • Shipped games or features on Roblox or similar platforms

  • Game jam or modding experience—projects you’ve loved building
  • Familiarity with live game systems (analytics, economy tuning, etc.)

What Makes This Role Exciting:

  • Ship features in games played by millions

  • Join creative brainstorms - not just code implementation
  • Learn from a world-class team with deep game dev experience

  • Be part of a fast-growing company backed by top investors (a16z, Makers Fund, Dune Ventures)
