Job summary

Electronic Arts in Vancouver is seeking an experienced .NET Software Engineer with a strong DevOps background to join our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team. You will design and develop RESTful applications and tools that support software stability across EA’s global game titles, enabling our development teams to deliver high-quality player experiences.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of complex features, implement CI/CD, and mentor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • High proficiency in C# with production-grade, maintainable code.
  • Experience with Python, C++, and/or Rust is a strong plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD principles and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Familiarity with containerization/orchestration tools like Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of complex features from design to deployment.
  • Translate requirements into technical designs and execution plans.
  • Drive architectural decisions considering scalability, reliability, cost, security, and maintainability.

  • Resolve production issues across multiple systems and dependencies.
  • Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Mentor colleagues to foster technical excellence and growth.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, we are seeking an experienced .NET Software Engineer with a strong DevOps background to join our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team. In this role, you will design and develop RESTful applications and tools that support software stability across EA’s global game titles, enabling our development teams to deliver exceptional, high-quality player experiences. Responsibilities:

Design large-scale, distributed systems and services with high availability, scalability, and performance requirements.

Lead the end-to-end development of complex features and systems, from design through deployment and ongoing operation.

Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical designs and execution plans.

Guide architectural decisions, evaluating trade-offs in scalability, reliability, cost, security, and maintainability.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability best practices; participate in on-call support rotations.

Resolve complex production issues across multiple systems and dependencies.

Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD best practices.

Partner across internal teams to drive and facilitate essential workflows for quality telemetry data.

Remain current on industry standards and introduce innovative concepts for experimentation, utilizing data-driven metrics to assess impact and efficacy.

Mentor and guide technical colleagues to expand their skill sets, fostering an environment dedicated to technical excellence, innovation, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.

8+ years of professional software development experience.

High proficiency in C# with the ability to write production-grade, maintainable code.

Experience with Python, C++, and/or Rust is a strong plus.

Experience working with low level process debugging, debug symbols, operating systems, compilers or information security is considered a strong asset

Experience working on large-scale build/release systems or developer platforms

Experience with CI/CD principles and workflows.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions.

Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid, collaborative environment.

Experience with system reliability, observability, and performance optimization.

Experience with relational databases and other database solutions including NoSQL, or columnar and data modelling as well as how to integrate them via Entity Framework.

Familiarity with open security standards such as OAuth2 or OIDC

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools e.g., Docker, Kubernetes

Familiarity with AI-driven coding and workflow tools.

Experience leading the design, development, and maintenance of APIs and backend components/services.

Pay Transparency - North America COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
