Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Vancouver, Canada, to tackle large-scale problems that impact millions of customers. You’ll join a team that values curiosity and world-changing work, with opportunities to grow technically and professionally.

You will design and build scalable technologies in a distributed environment, collaborating across disciplines in an agile setting. The posted base salary range is CAD 114,800 to 191,800 per year, with benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

About the team

Turing streamlines how businesses orchestrate and respond to critical events throughout a customer's lifecycle. As the backbone for customer lifecycle orchestration across Prime and Amazon, Turing processes over 350 billion events annually, supporting 3,000+ distinct use cases across 26+ global marketplaces. We manage the interoperability of Prime within the full Amazon ecosystem, focusing on benefitting every single Prime member, globally.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 2+ years of building large‑scale machine‑learning infrastructure for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization or search experience
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
