Job Description:

Perform activities developing components of solutions with a focus on analytics, support, testing, and proof of concepts aligned to business and technology objectives.

Provide a broad range of system solutions development to business problems through the development and programming of applications / systems.

May also provide research, installation, maintenance, configuration, administration and/or provisioning of systems/applications.

CUSTOMER
  1. Develop new solutions as required for engineering programs and projects within assigned area
  2. Develop new features and perform unit / component test for new application development initiatives aligned to business needs and in accordance with technology architecture standards
  3. Support business enquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break / fix implementations (e.g. source code changes). May also be responsible for peer code review.
  4. Work with technology partners to ensure the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals
  5. Analyze the technical requirements to recommend pragmatic and sound engineering specific solutions for own area, may be involved in coding/story estimates
  6. Work with other stakeholders, internal technology partners to ensure engineering solutions meet technical direction, requirements, performance, time-to-market and innovation goals
  7. Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and engineering decisions, undertaking re-development where required
  8. Document and verify system components, applications, system infrastructure, security, integration, operability and engineering related architecture designs associated with a program or project
  9. Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  10. Create and maintain quality code, ensure defect free programming consistent with standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment and participate in reviewing peer coding
  11. Provide technical expertise during Incident management, analyze incident reports and outages, perform impact assessment for incidents and facilitate internal and external communication throughout incident resolution
  12. Participate in identifying and recommending development / testing solutions / tools in support of project / application objectives
  13. Assist in the development / maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures

  1. Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to software engineering activities
  2. Ensure respective programs/ policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  3. Collaboratively engage with relevant stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external, to shift from finding defects to proactively preventing defects
  4. Actively seek and support continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the engineering practice
  5. Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
  6. Identify opportunities to minimize cost, provide recommendations and/or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and to enhance stakeholder experience
  7. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance, Operational Readiness Reviews, and supporting gating and review sign-offs for solution design
  8. Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists
  9. Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues
  10. Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  11. Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
  12. Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  13. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

BREADTH & DEPTH
  1. Advanced knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organization issues
  2. Performs complex to difficult technical tasks independently
  3. Advanced knowledge of technology, tools, various programming languages, processes, and procedures
  4. Develops program specifications; adapts, integrates, codes, tests and debugs programs; and is responsible for executing
  5. Uses existing procedures to solve routine problems; makes limited exceptions
  6. Generally reports to a Practice lead

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
  1. Undergraduate degree, Postgraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  2. Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  3. 3-5 years relevant experience
  4. Experienced professional with in-depth understanding of Linux Operating System and Shell scripting
  5. Applied programming experience in languages e.g., Python and Java
  6. Good understanding of networking which includes Load balancer(F5), Certificates, Firewalls
  7. Good understanding of Cloud computing & technologies
  8. Working experience of tools like Jira & Confluence
  9. DevOps Version control knowledge (GIT, Jenkins, Nexus)
  10. ITSM Processes (Incident/Change/Release) and ServiceNow
  11. High level understanding of Document or Content management systems
  12. Good exposure to all phases of software development life cycle, working in Agile environment.
  13. Associate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  14. Strong teamwork focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams.
  15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  16. Excellent team player willing to learn new technologies and ability to shift and work between priorities and tasks.
  17. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing application performance, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  18. The following below are considered good to have:
  19. Experience on CCM (Customer Communication Management) tools like OpenText Exstream Designer, Command Centre, Empower
  20. Application Server/Middleware (Tomcat)
  21. Web Services and API (HTTP, REST, SOAP, WSDL, RAML)
  22. UNIX & Network Administration skills
  23. Databases (Oracle or SQL Server)
  24. IT Security related knowledge and experience
  25. Job scheduling platform (e.g., AutoSys)
  26. Banking & Finance domain experience
  27. Previous working experience with TD
