Software Engineer II (Consumer Servicing)

We're looking for a Software Engineer II to join the AI Agents engineering team within the Servicing Engineering organization. Our team works closely with omnichannel AI agent vendors to provide a conversational first point of contact for our customers. We focus on orchestrating the systems within Affirm to continuously find solutions for our customers. The team is newly formed and taking on big unknowns, so we're looking for someone who wants to take ownership and execute for whatever is necessary.

What You'll Do

• Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery.
• Support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics, participating in ideation, and considering technical constraints and trade-offs.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and supporting ongoing maintenance and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to your team’s community by engaging in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

What We Look For

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to develop solutions that interact with multiple software components, with clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing code review feedback.
• Proactive ownership of personal growth, seeking feedback from team members, managers, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

Pay Grade: L

Equity Grade: 05

Base pay range: $125,000 - $175,000 annually, with additional benefits including health coverage, stipends, time off, and stock purchase plans.

Location: Remote Canada. Affirm is a remote-first company, with flexibility for occasional office work depending on role requirements.
