JOB DESCRIPTION

Sayari is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Application Engineering team and contribute to the development of new and existing features within our products. This role is ideal for a mid level, backend leaning full-stack engineer who is eager to take on new challenges, grow their skills, and make a meaningful impact. The right candidate will have a solid foundation in software engineering principals, with an interest in learning from more experienced team members and contributing to projects in the financial transparency and fraud prevention space.

Our application tier is built primarily in TypeScript (backend and frontend), running in Kubernetes, and is supported by PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Memgraph. The data ingest tier operates on Spark, processing large amounts of data from multiple sources. The platform powers a large-scale knowledge graph, sourced from millions of records across over 200 countries and 30 languages. As part of this team, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to our open-source projects, including our WebGL-powered network visualization library, sayari-analytics.github.io/trellis.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of features within the application, collaborating with cross-functional teams like data engineering and Solutions.
  • Assist in implementing scalable and reliable backend services, with a focus on maintainability.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to support application functionality.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and the product team to understand and implement feature requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews to learn and maintain a high standard of code quality.
  • Assist in optimizing database systems by learning and contributing to performance improvements.
  • Gain experience with deployment practices and assist in maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 1-3+ years of experience in full stack software engineering with a leaning towards backend development.
  • Experience developing web applications and APIs (RESTful).
  • Familiarity with TypeScript or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Basic knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and/or Elasticsearch.
  • Eagerness to learn about system architecture and optimization for large-scale applications.
  • Understanding of unit and integration testing, and familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Benefits:
