Job summary

PheedLoop in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a software engineer to help build the tech behind live events. You will contribute to backend and frontend, create REST endpoints, and transform design specs into delightful user interfaces.

You’ll work with a fast-moving team, participate in code reviews, and own parts of the CI/CD pipeline and deployment monitoring. Strong Python/Django and React experience are preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is common.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

• Understanding of REST APIs and relational databases.

What you’ll build everyday

• Ship meaningful code across our backend and frontend applications that directly shapes the product thousands of users rely on.
• Build new REST API endpoints and level up the ones already in production to make the platform faster, smarter, and more reliable.
• Bring technical design specs provided from the team lead to life with clean execution and create beautiful, pixel-perfect user interfaces that turn your work into experiences users see and love every day.
• Jump into peer code reviews and QA to keep quality high. Stay tapped into industry trends, new tools, and best practices. Keep communication flowing with the team lead and crew.
• Build hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms. Own post-deployment testing, fixes, and troubleshooting when things go live. Use logging and monitoring tools to spot issues fast and solve them faster.

Skills we are looking for

• Familiar with a backend development framework- Python/Django is a big plus. Working knowledge of a frontend framework- React preferred.
• Understand REST APIs and how integrations come together in real products. Exposure to relational databases and how data powers applications behind the scenes.
• Comfortable using Git and version control in a team environment. Ready to learn fast, adapt quickly, and thrive in a high-energy environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent real-world experience). Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated passion for software development through personal projects, side builds, or curiosity-driven work. Excited to receive mentorship, apply feedback, and keep leveling up your skills.
• Team-first mindset with the ability to collaborate and build alongside others. Sharp problem-solving instincts and strong attention to detail.
