About the Role

Develop and support the ABC's digital data capabilities, including data pipelines, aggregation, processing, visualization, and distribution services for ABC digital products and platforms. Strengthen data engineering foundations within digital product and platform teams to enable experimentation and leverage data effectively in ABC digital products.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide technical development skills within the ABC's Digital Product department to develop secure and high-performance platforms and services.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality software development, focusing on code quality, efficiency, system sustainability, scalability, and security within time and budget constraints.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation, including technical designs, product specifications, architecture details, support & operation guides, testing instructions, and thought processes.
• Adopt and share industry best engineering practices to foster data engineering excellence across Digital Product teams.
• Continuously improve the architectural foundation of data platforms and drive best practices for data products within digital teams.
• Ensure separation of concerns, create layers of abstractions, and develop reusable data components, applying service-oriented architecture principles where appropriate.

About You

• Extensive experience with software technologies such as dbt, AWS data services, BI systems, content management, digital media publishing, and API integration, with an advantage for experience in content delivery and diverse data sources.
• Demonstrated experience with modern data analytics tools, including real user monitoring, tag management, product feature measurement, data integration, and anomaly detection.
• Proven expertise with Kafka or other event streaming technologies, capable of designing, building, and operating reliable real-time data pipelines at scale.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Significant experience in developing complex, secure, high-performance data pipelines at scale.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Typescript, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and testable code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication abilities under pressure.
