Software Engineer, Core Exchange Team

At Liftoff, the Supply Exchange Core team is essential to the success of our Publisher side business. Our team is devoted to designing and building platform infrastructure that processes over a billion events daily, and we are rapidly expanding. We are a group of innovative engineers leveraging the latest technology to develop proficient and scalable systems. Responsibilities

• Take ownership and work with various product management, development and quality assurance groups in a dynamic environment
• Design, engineer & implement highly-available, fault-tolerant, distributed systems enhancing our real-time bidding system
• Make sure the code is readable, performs proficiently, has complete tests, is properly documented, and is regularly updated.
• Become informed with core development, product release and its business
• Implement new features and streamline existing services
• Minimize complexity and increase shared knowledge
• Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
• Participate in PagerDuty on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field.
• Internship experience in a relevant field (preferred), up to 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Golang (preferable), C/C++, Java, Python
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput, distributed backend services
• Understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms
• Knowledge of profiling and debugging distributed microservices
• Experience building data-intensive applications.
• Experience with distributed system observability metrics, using it for data-driven design decisions
• Good team communication and collaboration skills.
• Passionate about helping others and invested in the team’s success
• Good at English (oral, writing, reading)

Location:

This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities in the Pacific Time Zone: CA, NV, OR, and WA.

Most of the local team meets in-office once per week. We are also open to candidates located on the West Coast who are willing to travel regularly (one week per quarter) to the Orange County or Redwood City office.

Travel Expectations:

Compensation:

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidate's location and experience.

The following are our base salary ranges for this role:

• SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $115,000 -$130,000
• Seattle/Olympia, San Diego, Santa Barbara: $105,000 - $120,000
• All other cities and towns in our approved states: $100,000 - $110,000
