Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Software Engineer Co-op/Intern to support the Enterprise Solutions team and internal clients from our Victoria office. You will assist in planning and delivering complex information systems aligned to business needs, and learn to tackle a wide range of applications used by financial professionals.

You will engage with vendors, participate in Kanban/Scrum, and contribute to documentation, testing, and training.

Qualifications

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with design experience.
• Technical writing ability.
• Experience with Git or similar source control.
• Ability to create workflow diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical and programming support for new applications and enhancements.
• Perform day-to-day resolution tasks on complex systems across platforms.
• Translate user requirements into technical specifications and designs.
• Help with change control for software releases and upgrades.
• Document changes to procedures and data stores using standard tools and templates.
• Support the team in daily operations and special projects.
