Basetwo provides manufacturing engineers with a low code AI platform that helps them troubleshoot and optimize their production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Manufacturing engineers can use the Basetwo platform to:

• improve their understanding of their plant
• make better decisions in real-time
• build robust data transformation pipelines
• ingest and connect siloed databases

The Role

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be working on the Basetwo platform. You will maintain a close working relationship with our product, data and design teams to bring about the best-in-class experience for our users and then implement them in a modular, scalable manner.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build data models, services, and APIs to power the Basetwo platform - all while maintaining the right balance between developer experience, scaling, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability
• Take full ownership of building, shipping, and maintaining core Basetwo features end to end, for maximum customer and business impact
• Work at all levels of the stack with a concentration on the backend
• Build tools to automate processes and increase productivity for your team
• Advocate and evangelize best practices to other engineers

What You’ll Need

• You care about the user, strive to understand their needs, and build tools to solve their problems.
• We’re a startup and project needs can change quickly. You’re someone that loves to jump into a new problem, learn what’s needed, and solve it
• You’re a backend engineering specialist or software engineering generalist with 3+ years of industry experience with strong communication skills.
• Have a strong foundation in API design, distributed systems, service oriented architectures, and backend implementation
• Production experience with SQL and database design using PostgreSQL or similar
• Have experience with containerization technologies (Ex: Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
• You have a strong background in computer science fundamentals with a degree in CS or a related field
• Strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility
