Job summary

KIC Realty is transforming real estate in Canada with a tech-first approach. This remote role is open to Canadian residents, with preference for the Vancouver area for occasional planning or celebrations.

You’ll design and build client-facing features, mentor peers, and help shape AI-driven workflows across our platform. Join a fast-growing team leveraging TypeScript, Vue/React, NodeJS, and SQL, using Claude Code and Codex to accelerate production software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Vue or React, NodeJS, SQL.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex in production.
• Experience building production web apps, APIs, data models, performance and reliability.
• Ability to work with third-party data and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship features across our client-facing platform.
• Build internal tools that help agents work faster, from lead management to marketing for listings.
• Make architecture decisions and own features from first sketch to production.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing, and help set engineering standards.
• Work directly with leadership, brokers and agents to hear feedback from users of your product.
• Help shape how we build with AI in workflows, reviews, and where AI belongs in products.

The position

This is a remote position, but only open to Canadian residents eligible to work in Canada. Preference will be given to someone located in the greater Vancouver area so that we can get together on occasion for planning or celebratory experiences. And as a remote position, it is absolutely critical that you have strong communication skills – both written and verbal.

What you bring

• 5+years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience withTypeScript, React or Vue, NodeJS, SQL
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to build production software. You know how to give them clear direction, review what they produce, and tell when the output is wrong.
• Experience building and running production web apps, including APIs, data models, performance and reliability
• Comfort working with third‑party data and integrations
• The judgment to know when to move fast and when to slow down and get it right
• Ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical teammates

Nice to have

• Experience at a small, fast-growing company where you wore a lot of hats
