Job summary

Bay Street HR is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and scale core products in a fast-paced team. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features across the full stack.

Responsibilities include API development, performance tuning, and contributing to architectural decisions. Strong coding discipline and experience with MySQL, Python, and Node.js are essential.

We’re seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing development team. You'll work on building and scaling our core products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that impact thousands of users. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications and services using modern frameworks and languages.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver features.
• Build and optimize APIs, backend services, and user-facing features across the full stack.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and database queries.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Utilize version control (GitHub) and maintain CI/CD best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid experience with MySQL database design and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting.
• Experience with Node.js for building APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Ability to write clear documentation and communicate complex technical concepts.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Java for backend development.
• Knowledge of C#/.NET framework and development practices.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
