Job summary

Forescout in Kanata (Ottawa area) is seeking experienced software engineers to shape cybersecurity SaaS solutions. You will own stories end-to-end, review code, and develop cloud-based software using Java, React, and Azure services.

You will collaborate with Product/QA/UX, improve performance, and mentor junior engineers in an agile DevOps environment. The role emphasizes writing clean code, participating in debugging and unit tests, and contributing to documentation while aligning with security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience writing code in Java, including API development and database management.
• 5+ years of frontend development in React, Node.js and/or TypeScript.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Azure preferred, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or related field.

What You Bring to Forescout

Key Skills

• 5+ years of experience writing code in Java, including API development and database management.
• 5+ years of experience in frontend development in React, Node.js and/or TypeScript.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Azure preferred, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or related field.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Effective collaboration and stakeholder communication.
• Time management and ability to work independently on tasks.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
• Ability to analyze and optimize code for performance and scalability.
• Core Technical Competencies
• Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
• Understanding performance optimization, security best practices, and software scalability.
• Exposure to LLM inference, agents, MCP servers and prompt engineering.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Linux shell scripting.
• Experience in the Azure data stack (e.g., Azure Data Explorer, Event Hub, Service Bus, CosmosDB).
• Experience in terraform, helm.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity and networks.
