Job summary

Salt is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a short-term contract in Canada. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems using TypeScript and Node.js, with REST and GraphQL APIs, and serverless/edge architectures.

You will contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, SSR workflows, and AI-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with testing strategies, SSR environments, and Kontent.ai, and familiarity with AI prompt engineering

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience designing and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of serverless and edge architectures.
• Hands-on testing with unit, integration, and contract tests; CI/CD familiarity.
• Familiarity with SSR frameworks and Kontent.ai.

• Work within Server-Side Rendering (SSR) environments and integrate content management solutions such as Kontent.ai.
• Contribute to AI-driven development initiatives, including prompt engineering and schema design.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and deliver reliable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong professional experience developing applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proven experience designing, building, and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of serverless computing and edge-based architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with testing frameworks and automated testing strategies.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Familiarity with SSR frameworks and environments.
• Experience working with Kontent.ai.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and schema design for AI-powered applications.
• Nice to Have Experience with Python, particularly in AI-related development.
• Exposure to AI integrations, LLM-powered applications, or generative AI technologies.
