Job summary

Planet Labs is seeking a Software Engineer – Enterprise AI to lead deployment of enterprise AI apps and foundational AI infrastructure. The role involves hands-on work with AI Gateways, Agent Registry, and regulated engineering environments while aligning with ITAR, EAR, or FedRAMP requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with GCP and AWS ecosystems.
• Ability to adapt to constant change and learn quickly.
• Experience in regulated environments (ITAR, EAR, FedRAMP) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Python, vector databases, and SQL.

• We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer – Enterprise AI to lead the hands-on deployment of enterprise-grade AI applications, custom agentic workflows, and foundational AI infrastructure (AI Gateway & Agent Registry) while ensuring strict alignment with regulatory compliance standards.
• This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications using GCP and AWS ecosystem
• Learning mindset with the ability to adapt to constant change
• Experience working in regulated engineering environments requiring strict compliance standards (ITAR, EAR, or FedRAMP)
• Expertise in GCP and AWS
• Experience with AI Gateways, Agent Registries, and AI orchestration platforms
• Expertise with Python, Vector Databases, and SQL
• Prior experience with Gemini Enterprise App and Claude Code / Cowork is a huge plus
