Job summary

Bulk Barn is hiring a Software Engineer to join our IT team in Aurora. You will design and develop business applications, document systems, and support data flow improvements across the retailer's platforms.

You'll work on API development, BI reporting (Power BI/SSRS), and ETL processes, leveraging SQL Server and SharePoint in a Microsoft-centric environment. Strong problem-solving and deadline-driven skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science.
• 3-5 years' experience as a Software Engineer.
• 3-5 years' experience working for a mid to large retailer in an office environment.
• 3-5 years' experience developing program code in Microsoft systems.
• 3-5 years' experience with Windows servers.
• 3-5 years' experience with structured data queries, data base structures and warehousing techniques.
• 3-5 years' experience designing, testing and documenting new features and procedures.
• 3-5 years' experience working under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
• 3-5 years' experience with complex technical instructions and analytical/problem solving.
• Intermediate knowledge of IIS servers.
• Knowledge of MS Business Central 365.
• Power BI reporting and workspace management.
• SharePoint 2019 and SharePoint Online.
• SSRS / SSIS / SSAS: Reports Developer, ETL Developer.
• SQL Server: T-SQL; DBA skills: performance, partitions, indexing, jobs.

Responsibilities

• Monitors vendor and user requested enhancements/patches and apply upgrades.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Software Engineer is a contributor in our dynamic Information Technology team providing technical solutions to an ever-changing challenging business environment. You will be responsible for the technical design and development of business applications or enhancements as identified in Business Requirement documents providing timing estimates to Project Managers. The application design and development is done ensuring performance, quality, and technical documentation requirements are met.

• Monitors vendor and user requested enhancements and/or patches and apply appropriate upgrades.

• Develops overall maintenance and upgrades plans for major Company business applications.
• Develop API, scripts, power BI reports, SSRS reports, web applications

Education & Skills

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science
• 3- 5 years' experience working as a Software Engineer
• 3-5 years' experience working for a mid to large sized retailer, in an office environment
• 3 -5 years' experience developing program code in Microsoft systems
• 3 -5 years' experience working with Window servers.
• 3-5 years' experience working with structured data queries, data base structures and data warehousing techniques
