What We Need

We are looking for a process-minded Software Development Manager to lead a team focused on building centralized dev tools, automation frameworks, and pipeline products. In this role, you will scale a team of high-performing engineers creating shared systems that act as force multipliers for our studios. You will combine solid technical architecture oversight with strong people management to ensure our tools accelerate game creation across 2K's portfolio.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8+ tools and automation engineers, tracking performance expectations and defining career development frameworks.
  • Standardize technical onboarding, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and performance review metrics for the engineering group.
  • Collaborate with Technical Directors and Product Managers to define software engineering standards and drive the adoption of automated pipelines.
  • Oversee development of automated testing principles, CI/CD systems, and reusable content creation tools to eliminate workflow bottlenecks.
  • Maintain sharp technical skills by writing code for non-time‑critical software components, reviewing documentation, and exploring new technologies.
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience (ideally within games, VFX, or animation tools), with 2+ years directly managing engineers.
  • Expert knowledge of software development pipelines, automated testing principles, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Highly proficient programming skills in C++, C#, or Python within large, multi‑branch codebases.
  • Excellent communication and alignment skills to bridge the gap between technical teams, product strategy, and studio partners.
  • Undergrad or higher degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points
  • Demonstrable experience with Unreal Engine 5 core systems, editor tooling, or blueprint frameworks.
  • Experience with web technologies, database architectures, or distributed systems.
  • Exposure to machine learning or AI integrations within content creation pipelines.
