UPX (Unified Payments Experience) team is growing, modernizing the architecture with bleeding-edge technologies. We are looking for talent to build applications using AWS services, Reactive Native, Open Source frameworks, and Serverless architecture. Our work involves solving complex engineering problems, from securing customer PII to building highly reliable Tier-1 services with 5 nines availability, impacting all Amazon customers using payments. We also have contributor teams that leverage our federated architecture to enhance payment experiences with new Payment Methods.

Our mission is to provide a trusted, intuitive, and accessible experience to customers, while improving contributor efficiency through tools, automation, and reliable data for business decisions.

Key job responsibilities

What will you do?

  • Accelerate development and expansion of UPX-driven Payment Experience worldwide.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead software engineers across levels to deliver business value.
  • Innovate to solve complex problems for global operations.
  • Improve system scalability, integrity, and automation.

Role

You will shape product definition, design, roadmap, and development, including:

  • Hiring, retaining, and growing top engineering talent.
  • Providing technical leadership to ensure scalable architecture.
  • Delivering high-quality solutions reliably.
  • Defining product strategy and roadmap.
  • Communicating risks and successes to executives.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in multi-tier web services development.
  • Knowledge of full software/hardware/network development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and leadership about requirements, designs, and strategy.
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineers.

The salary range for this position is $171,400 to $286,200 per year, based on experience and skills. Additional compensation such as equity and sign-on bonuses may apply. Applicants should apply via our career site.
