We are innovating client intake, marketing, and growth strategies for law firms with Clio CalendarRules. Our vision is to make Clio CalendarRules the leading marketing platform for the legal sector.

This role is open to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec. If local to our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto), you are expected to be in the office at least twice a week on designated Anchor Days.

Role Overview

As a Development Manager, you will lead a highly technical team, supporting and growing your people, ensuring strong execution, and building solid technical solutions. You will code, review, and design alongside your team, fostering a safe and productive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with your triad to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and craft roadmaps.
  • Design technical solutions and review code and architecture documents.
  • Participate actively in coding and code reviews.
  • Support your team’s career growth through 1:1s and coaching.
  • Participate in hiring to expand the engineering team.
  • Review contributions from team members and other developers.
Ideal Candidate
  • Proven success in leading software development teams, especially for large SaaS products.
  • Hands-on experience in software development.
  • Broad technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in hiring, coaching, and retaining engineers.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability.
Preferred Skills
  • Philosophy on great software teams.
  • Experience with CRM products at scale.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $172,000 - $258,000 CAD, depending on experience and location. Benefits include health insurance, flexible time off, counseling benefits, RRSP matching, and recognition programs.
