A leading technology company in Toronto seeks a Software Development Manager to lead AWS SOC Engineering. You will drive security automation, design scalable solutions, and manage a skilled team. As a Software Development Manager (SDM) leading our AWS SOC Engineering team, you'll drive the development of advanced security automation and security tooling that fortify our security operations capabilities. You'll manage a team of developers to build scalable solutions that power our SOC, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence operations.
You'll shape the technical roadmap for security tooling initiatives, collaborate with various security teams to understand operational needs, and translate these into efficient, scalable solutions. Your work will directly impact our organization's security posture by enabling automated response, and improved visibility across our infrastructure.
This role requires expertise in security architecture, automation frameworks, and modern development practices. You'll lead the charge in revolutionizing our security operations through cutting-edge tooling and automation solutions.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience with common attack scenarios within cloud computing environments and has used a security framework, such as MITRE ATT&CK, to define and analyze security incidents.
