Job description

Salary Range: $180,000.00 To $200,000.00 Annually

Join us on the journey to help build the world using applied robotics and AI!

Novarc Technologies is a full-stack robotics company helping to build the world using applied robotics and AI. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the Americas by the Financial Times for two consecutive years, we are at the epicenter of innovation and global expansion. Join our dynamic team as we extend our reach across four continents, blending pioneering welding technology with a profound global impact. It's a captivating time to be part of our journey – here, you'll do more than just work; you'll be an integral part of a movement shaping the tech-driven future.

Novarc Technologies is looking for a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead a team developing software for specialized machinery.

Summary: As the Software Engineering Manager at Novarc Technology, you will lead the software development team in designing, building, and optimizing software solutions for our advanced robotic welding systems. Your leadership will drive the development of both user-facing interfaces and backend services, along with managing cloud integrations and software release processes.

We are seeking a technical leader with a robust background in low-level programming and practical experience with industrial automation systems. This position is distinct from a full-stack web developer or DevOps specialist role, as it primarily involves developing code that operates directly on machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of at least six software engineers, fostering their technical growth and professional development.

Manage the full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment on hardware.

Architect, design, and implement software for industrial machines, focusing on performance, reliability, and security.

Engage in hands‑on coding and provide technical guidance to the team, including code reviews and design discussions.

Collaborate with product, hardware, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Implement and refine lean and Agile development practices to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.

Communicate technical concepts and project status effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

7+ years of professional software development experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.

Deep expertise in at least one of the following languages: Rust, C++, Go, or Flutter.

Hands‑on experience with embedded systems or machine control applications, including communication with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or HMIs (Human‑Machine Interfaces).

Proven track record of leading a team of 6 or more software engineers.

Strong understanding of Agile and lean development methodologies.

Familiarity with systems programming concepts, including multithreading, memory management, and real‑time operating systems.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for building robust, reliable software for physical machines.

Experience with Flutter is a plus, especially for HMI development.

Experience with Linux is a must, Ubuntu a nice to have.
