Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC in Vancouver is seeking a senior software professional to help design, build, and operate backend services for Route 53 Domains in a high-availability environment.

You will contribute to system design, code reviews, and reliability improvements, write automated tests, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with product, support, and partner teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 4+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 4+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
