UPX (Unified Payments eXperience) team is growing and modernizing its architecture using cutting-edge technologies. We are seeking talented individuals to rapidly build applications utilizing new AWS services, Reactive Native technology, open-source frameworks, and serverless architectures. Our focus is on solving complex engineering challenges, from securing customer PII end-to-end to building highly reliable Tier-1 services with 99.999% availability. As a Software Development Engineer in the UPX team, you will address unique and complex problems at a fast pace, leveraging the latest technologies to create scalable solutions. Your responsibilities include designing and developing product features optimized for scale, efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for software engineers passionate about building end-to-end software solutions, with strong experience in delivering scalable solutions and systems design. You should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, customer-facing features. Your role will encompass all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, CI/CD, security, and operational excellence. Collaboration with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams during project launches is essential.

Key job responsibilities

• Build highly scalable software systems to support Amazon's rapid business growth.
• Evolve and develop services that are reliable and have extremely low latency.
• Define the direction of the payment experience in collaboration with various teams across the company.
• Create next-generation systems to simplify customer payment experiences and enable rapid experimentation.

A day in the life

You will work in a dynamic environment alongside talented engineers to design and implement technical solutions that meet business needs. You will have ownership of designing new components aimed at enhancing the platform's extensibility, scalability, availability, and latency.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The salary range for this position is $114,800 to $191,800 annually, depending on experience and skills. Compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and other benefits. Applicants should apply via our career site.
