UPX (Unified Payments eXperience) team is growing, modernizing the architecture with bleeding-edge technologies. We are looking for exceptional talent to rapidly build applications that utilize exciting new AWS services, Reactive Native technology, Open Source frameworks, and Serverless architecture. We solve complex engineering problems, from securing customer PII end-to-end to building highly reliable Tier-1 services with 5 nines availability. As a Software Development Engineer within the UPX team, you will solve unique and complex problems at a rapid pace, utilizing the latest technologies to create highly scalable solutions. You will design and develop product features, focusing on scale, efficiency, and delivering a differentiated customer experience.

We are looking for software engineers passionate about building end-to-end software solutions, with strong experience in delivering scalable solutions and systems design. You should have a proven ability to deliver high-quality, customer-facing features. You will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, CI/CD, security, and operational excellence. Collaboration with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and other tech teams is essential throughout the project lifecycle.

Key job responsibilities

• Build highly scalable software systems to support Amazon's rapid business growth.
• Evolve and build reliable, low-latency services.
• Design the future of the payment experience in collaboration with multiple teams.
• Develop systems to simplify customer payment experiences and enable rapid experimentation.

A day in the life

You will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of talented engineers to design and implement technical solutions that meet business needs. You will have ownership of designing new components aimed at improving platform extensibility, scalability, availability, and latency.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

The salary range for this role is $114,800 to $191,800 per year, depending on experience and skills. Additional compensation such as equity and sign-on bonuses may be offered as part of the total package.
