Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs, and implements software solutions. Nasdaq Technology is seeking a dedicated Back-end Software Engineer Senior Specialist focused on AWS Cloud SaaS Java back-end development to join our Toronto office. As a Back-end Software Developer Senior Specialist, you will be part of a high-performing team delivering critical data solutions for US financial markets. You will work with experienced professionals, contributing to complex technology solutions for external clients, and have opportunities for growth and increased responsibility within the team.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement software solutions, including coding, testing, and maintenance.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from planning to deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers and team members to understand requirements and translate them into solutions; provide user support, training, and documentation.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications; serve as a technical expert and support documentation.
• Engage in design meetings, perform code reviews, and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Java development experience.
• Experience with AWS.
• Proficiency in SQL, RESTful APIs, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Maven, Git, Linux commands, and Bash scripting.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Passion for learning and innovation, attention to detail, adaptability, and a curiosity about the financial industry.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SaaS experience, Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, Big Data tools, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.

This position is based in Toronto with a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days/week in-office).
