Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in Montreal, Canada is seeking a versatile Software Developer to build and maintain scalable backend and frontend features for the education platform used by millions of teachers. You will work with modern tech including React and Java/Springboot, delivery scripts, and DevOps practices.

The role offers opportunities to contribute across the full stack, including cloud, monitoring, and automated testing, with a culture of learning and growth.

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
• Experience with Java as well as front-end (HTML/JS) but place the highest value on the ability to be productive in a wide range of environments, and learn to be productive quickly, even with unfamiliar tools.
• Understanding of software development processes.
• Ability to test, analyze data and improve constantly.
• Understanding of RESTful services (status codes, operation types, payload formats).
• Cloud familiarity (preference for AWS).
• Code reviews and version control (preference for Git).

• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
