About the team + role

The Observability Team is responsible for all things observability at Robinhood, encompassing metrics, logging, tracing, error handling, and alerting. The team builds and maintains a platform that allows other development teams to seamlessly integrate observability into their services, ensuring issues are detected and resolved with minimal friction.

Our team uses multiple vendor solutions to provide a seamless observability experience for developers at Robinhood.

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to observability initiatives. Our team plays a critical role in enabling our engineering teams to deliver reliable and performant software by providing a robust observability platform. As a developer on this team, you will help driving the strategy and vision for observability at Robinhood, ensuring our platform is world-class, scalable, and cost-efficient.

What you’ll do
  • Build and maintain a secure, reliable and scalable platform at Robinhood that will provide observability for developers for all of their services
  • Design large scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
  • Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the Observability infrastructure and related systems.
  • Identify, debug, root cause and solve problems that are unique to Observability Platform.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs, and refine the platform.
What you bring
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • You have experience building infrastructure and large scale distributed systems.
  • You are able to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results which help the team to achieve its objectives.
  • You have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
