The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Developer to join our Mighty Moose team within the software development department. This team focuses on API integration for our new underwriting platform, initially for the US market, with future plans for Canadian integration. Reporting to the AVP of Software Development, you will design and implement innovative software solutions aligned with our strategic goals. You will collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software applications, focusing on API integration.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  3. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering continuous learning.
  4. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and security standards.
  5. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for best practices.
  6. Contribute to improving our software development lifecycle processes.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure application reliability and performance.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack development and API integration.
  3. Proficiency in programming languages and technologies, especially Typescript and NodeJS, in AWS environments.
  4. Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus.
  5. Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS).
  6. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new challenges.
  8. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
