Job summary

Sectigo is seeking a mid-level Software Developer to contribute to modern applications using Java and Go, with exposure to frontend/UI technologies. You will own components, handle customer issues, and ensure secure, scalable solutions in a collaborative team environment.

The role is full-time and hybrid, based in Ottawa, reporting to the office 3 to 4 days a week. Compensation ranges from CAD 95K to CAD 115K, subject to experience and equity considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services with Java/Spring and Go.
• Familiarity with frontend/UI basics (Angular) and scripting.
• Strong focus on secure, scalable software and PKI awareness.

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and internal issues, including root-cause analysis and effective solutions.
• Design and implement backend services, UI applications, third-party integrations, and REST services using Java/Spring, Golang, Angular, and scripting.
• Own and maintain integrations with third-party products and external systems, including API changes, failures, and upgrades.
• Deliver complete solutions with production code, tests, design docs, and performance analyses.
• Participate in code reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
• Apply low-level design principles focusing on performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Perform scripting and automation using shell on Linux and PowerShell on Windows.
• Work with Docker-containerized apps and assist in deployment, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Analyze logs, metrics, and alerts; participate in incident analysis and remediation.
• Additional tasks may be assigned per company initiatives.

We are seeking a talentedSoftware Developer (Mid-Level)who will contribute independently to the development, integration, and support of modern applications using Java and Go, while gaining exposure to frontend/UI technologies and scripting. This role will focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions, with ownership of assigned components and customer issues from start to finish. The successful candidate will apply sound technical judgment, take responsibility for low-level design decisions, and demonstrate a solid understanding of software security principles, including practical cryptography and PKI, within a collaborative team environment.

Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:

• Independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and internal issues, including root-cause analysis and implementation of effective solutions.
• Design and implement backend services, UI applications, third-party integrations, and REST services using Java/Spring, Golang, frontend technologies (such as Angular), and/or scripting solutions.
• Own and maintain integrations with third-party products and external systems, including handling API changes, failures, and version upgrades.
• Take responsibility for delivering complete solutions, including production code, unit and integration tests, design documentation, performance analysis, and product support artifacts.
• Participate actively in code reviews, both receiving and providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Apply low-level design principles to components and services, considering performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Perform scripting and automation tasks using shell scripting on Linux and PowerShell on Windows to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Work with containerized applications using Docker and contribute to deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Demonstrate awareness of production systems by analyzing logs, metrics, and alerts, and participating in incident analysis and remediation.
• Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.

• The targeted compensation package for this role is betweenCAD 95K and CAD 115K,subject to internal equity and years of experience. We may make further adjustments through an approval process if the targeted compensation range needs to be modified based on business needs and market trends.
