Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

The Java Developer is responsible to develop, implement and support of back-end software components for mission-critical payment processing platforms. You will work with technical leads, other developers, QA specialist, SRE and product owner in an agile manner to create quality, applications. This developer also will work with Software Development leadership team to help make architectural recommendations/decisions on multiple software platforms.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to Manager, Software Development and Architecture.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Design, development, unit testing, implementation and support of java based back-end components dealing with large volumes of sensitive data in a real-time environment

• Creation, maintenance and support of secure, high quality, and code components

• Collaboration with other developers, QA specialists, system support specialists and other team members to integrate components and implement/support a functional solution in an Agile environment.

• Work with Database Administrators on Database design

• Create tickets in Jira with detailed technical specifications

• Maintain documentation on complex information using data flow diagram

• Conduct proof of concepts of new technologies and design patterns with an eye to helping make architectural decisions for software platforms

• Contribute to sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience

• At least 3 years of experience developing production scale applications in Java

• Experience in development and testing of XML & JSON-based API

• Experience with Microservices architecture and Java Spring boot framework

• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server or an equivalent RDBMS

• Experience in Kubernetes and Docker is an important asset

• Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)related products and Kafka (considered an asset)

• Experience in Cloud services and solution development in Microsoft Azure (considered an asset)

• Familiar with Agile and DevOps concepts including tools such as Gitlab, Nexus, Ansible and Jira
