A leading company in Toronto seeks a Full Stack Software Developer for a hybrid contract role. Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Stack Software Developer for a hybrid contract role based in Toronto. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact public-facing digital services, supporting both frontend and backend development in a modern tech environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Angular v7+, Java, REST APIs, and responsive UI/UX design, with deep expertise in developing AODA-compliant applications.
This is a contract position of 8 months where you will work alongside technical architects, designers, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and accessible web applications. The role requires strong hands-on coding experience, a user-first mindset, and a deep understanding of both client-side and server-side technologies. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.

Responsibilities
• Translate technical specifications into tested, scalable applications
• Design, code, debug, test, and document front-end and back-end systems
• Build REST APIs and integrate with front-end interfaces
• Implement and expand data pipelines (ETL processes)
• Ensure AODA compliance across all UI components and application flows
• Work with project teams to support system implementation and post-deployment maintenance
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Design and manage databases, data structures, and connectivity
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-platform compatibility
• Collaborate across teams throughout the SDLC using Agile methodologies
Qualifications
Must Have
•Extensive experience with:
oAngular v7+, JavaScript, TypeScript, RXJS, Node.js, NPM
oJava frameworks: Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Security, Hibernate/JPA
oFront-end: CSS, HTML5, responsive design, mobile coding
oREST API integration and design
oBitbucket, RSA, and Agile development environments
•10+ years of:
oJava development
oUI development with Angular, CSS, and AODA principles
oOracle and open-source databases
•AODA compliance knowledge:
oHands-on experience with WCAG 2.0, JAWS, HTML5, WAI-ARIA, and Hi Sheriff
Nice to Have
Experience with React
Familiarity with public sector platforms (Driver/Vehicle/Health services)
Knowledge of middleware and gateway technologies
Ability to generate technical documentation, walk-throughs, and post-implementation support
