We’re looking for a developer who’s passionate about making a meaningful impact by building and testing the audio components of our innovative medical solutions by developing and testing the sound components of our innovative mobile and web based medical solutions with an amazing group of brilliant and passionate people. This is an opportunity to help change the world by furthering our mission to expand hearing healthcare around the globe.

We’re growing quickly and looking to add a technically sharp, hands-on developer to our team—someone with a passion for sound measurement technologies and a strong foundation in both software and hardware. You thrive at the intersection of engineering disciplines : you write clean, efficient Python code and understand the intricacies of audio hardware such as DACs, amplifiers, and transducers. We’re looking for someone who is curious, open to feedback, and eager to keep learning.

The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and communicative, with a deep curiosity about how systems work and a talent for troubleshooting complex interactions between hardware and software. This is an onsite role based in Ottawa, Ontario.

What you'll do :

• Design, implement, and test software for audio measurement and playback systems.
• Develop tools and features for our audiometry platform using Python and other languages.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues involving DACs, amplifiers, and transducers.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain high-quality coding standards.

Essential Qualifications :

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent job experience.
• Deep understanding of electroacoustic measurements and equipment.
• Knowledge of testing methods relating to amplifiers, digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and speakers.
• At least 2 years of experience in Python programming.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with systems involving hardware and software components.
• Ability to learn, analyze and adopt new technologies.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality code and provide constructive code reviews.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm toward solving complex problems.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Requires working at our Ottawa office in-person.

Additional Assets :

• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Familiarity with audio analyzers and sound level meters.
• Knowledge of audiology, audiometer functions, or similar hearing test equipment.
• Experience with iOS development and Xcode.
• Other experience with scripting / coding is a big asset.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Git.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration or UI tests.
