Xona is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to contribute to the development and integration of a desktop application that interacts with our in-house satellite receivers and to write application code for our satellite subsystem components.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and can work both independently and collaboratively to deliver mission-critical insights, based in Montreal, Canada.

Qualifications

• Experience with C/C++ and Python and build systems.
• Experience with hardware communication protocols such as RS-485, UART, I2C, CAN, SPI, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Experience with dev kits and firmware flashing.
• Software architecture for software-hardware interfaces, build system design, component/subsystem communication, and software modularization.
• Embedded development and microcontroller programming.
• Bash scripting.
• RTOS.
• Control systems and/or motor control.
• Leadership experience as a team lead/manager.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with C and Python coding languages and build systems

• Experience with hardware communication system protocols such as RS-485, UART, I2C, CAN, SPI, and ethernet TCP/IP

• Experience with dev kits and firmware flashing

• Software architecting for software-hardware interfaces (wire format), build system design, component and subsystem communication design, and software modularization

• Embedded development for microcontroller programming

La personne retenue participera également au développement du code applicatif destiné aux composants de nos sous-systèmes satellitaires. La personne idéale s’épanouit dans l’environnement dynamique d’une entreprise en démarrage et est en mesure de travailler avec assurance, tant de façon autonome qu’en collaboration avec les autres membres de l’équipe, afin de fournir des solutions et des renseignements essentiels à la mission.

Qualifications requises

• Expérience avec les langages de programmation C et Python ainsi qu’avec les systèmes de compilation

• Expérience avec les protocoles de communication matérielle, notamment RS-485, UART, I2C, CAN, SPI et Ethernet TCP/IP

• Expérience avec les trousses de développement et la programmation de micrologiciels (\" firmware flashing \")

• Expérience en architecture logicielle pour les interfaces entre logiciels et matériel (format des données échangées), en conception de systèmes de compilation, en conception des communications entre composants et sous-systèmes ainsi qu’en modularisation logicielle

• Expérience en développement de systèmes embarqués et en programmation de microcontrôleurs

• Expérience en programmation de scripts Bash

• Expérience avec les systèmes d’exploitation en temps réel (RTOS)

• Expérience en systèmes de commande et/ou en commande de moteurs

• Expérience à titre de chef d’équipe ou de gestionnaire
