Job Overview:

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a rapidly growing and expanding live production control system adaptable for use in workflows ranging from traditional broadcast studios to highly scalable IP based facilities, and the growing field of streaming and cloud-based productions.

What the job is all about:

  • User Interface design and implementation for Web UIs in Embedded/Server Linux, container, or similar environment.
  • Conversion of existing application UIs from existing framework to HTML/Web-Based implementation.
  • Developing new and extending UI features within an existing application framework.
  • Developing interfaces that facilitate communication within and between modules.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging developed UIs and interactions with other system modules.
  • Estimate development tasks and project effort levels.
  • Participating in code design and code reviews.

Who you are:

  • 3-5 years UI and Web development experience minimum.
  • Experience developing for embedded systems, single-board-computers or other space-constrained environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux development environment, command line tools, and scripting languages (e.g. bash).
  • Experience with Agile software development methods (e.g. Scrum), issue tracking (e.g. Jira) and version control systems (e.g git).
  • Ability to provide accurate estimates for task & project durations and drive towards completion.
  • You revel in problem solving, take ownership of and have pride in your work.
  • You enjoy the creative process of ‘finding a way’ to overcome challenges.
  • You are a flexible, adaptable, self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • You like people and working with a skilled team.
  • You recognize that communication skills are as important as technical skills.
  • You want to be part of a team that builds great, successful products that customers love.

Bonus points if you have the following:

  • Application software and UI / Device Web interface design experience
  • Experience with Other common UI frameworks (e.g. Qt, Gtk, Java Swing)
  • Knowledge of broadcast studios, especially router / distribution systems is helpful.
  • Live production or Broadcast industry experience or knowledge of relevant workflows, standards, and practices,
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages C, C++, Java, Go, Python
  • Bachelor’s Degree, program certificate or equivalent experience Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related field
