Description

Scope: Senior Programmer/Developer (L3) – Corrections Systems Portfolio

The Corrections Systems Portfolio is seeking a temporary Senior Programmer/Developer (Level 3) with 10+ years of experience to support the design, development, and maintenance of multiple systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust, tested software solutions, including enhancements, troubleshooting, and break/fix support.

Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Engage with business clients, including executives and subject matter experts (SMEs), to understand business needs.
  • Design technically sound solutions that align with GO-ITS and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with JTS SMEs throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Application Development
  • Design and develop new interfaces for .NET-based systems within the Corrections portfolio.
  • Create detailed programming specifications, UI designs, prototypes, and generate application code.
  • Conduct unit testing, debug code, and compile data-driven programs.
  • Provide ongoing support for incident resolution, defect fixes, and change management.
  • Technical Execution
  • Participate in coding and development of application components including: User interfaces; Data services; Data synchronization; Deployment services.
  • Attend and contribute to project design sessions, JAD walkthroughs, and architecture reviews.
  • Produce software architecture documentation and system design artifacts (e.g., use cases, class diagrams, component/state diagrams).
  • Testing & Deployment
  • Develop documentation for testing, implementation, and defect tracking in accordance with OPS standards.
  • Participate in unit, system, and integration testing.
  • Prepare installation packages and deployment documentation.
  • Support user authentication and access control development based on business rules.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Provide regular status reports, briefing notes, and other required documentation.
  • Document all work and artifacts completed during the project.
  • Knowledge Transfer & Support
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge transfer to internal staff upon project completion.
  • Attend meetings related to issue resolution and provide presentations as needed.
  • Undertake special assignments or sub-projects as directed.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Adhere to JTS PMO and Enterprise Architecture documentation requirements.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet OPS standards and project timelines.

Other Details

Knowledge Transfer:

  • Knowledge to be Transferred: (at the end of the contract) Transition Support KT will commence 2 weeks prior to the end of contract, with the FFS resource providing KT to the FTE resource.
  • Transfer to: To an FTE resource.
  • Details of Transfer: The FTE will meet weekly with the consultant to facilitate the knowledge transfer. All aspects of design, documentation and code related to this project will be transferred to the FTE. All code and related documentation will be stored in the JTS TFS for retrieval. The FTE will also ensure the consultant is checking-in proper version of the code and the related documents into the repository.
