About the Role

A leading AI research lab is hiring experienced software engineers to help train advanced language models. In this role, you’ll design and validate prompt-based tasks grounded in real-world software engineering practices . Your input will directly shape how AI understands system design, infrastructure, APIs, and databases.

This is a flexible, remote and part-time opportunity where your deep technical knowledge can drive the next generation of AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, review, and evaluate prompt-based questions related to core software development topics
• Ensure AI-generated responses reflect realistic engineering workflows and high technical rigor
• Use your background in backend, systems, infrastructure, or full-stack development to guide accurate and relevant AI content
• Provide structured feedback on code quality, architecture, and implementation approaches
• 3+ years of software engineering experience in demanding environments (e.g., top-tier startups, hedge funds, quant firms)
• Computer Science degree from a top university in the U.S., Canada, or U.K.
• Proven ability to design and lead development of complex database schemas and production-grade systems
• Expert-level proficiency in software development, with strong attention to detail and structured thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work Structure

• Flexible workload : 10–20 hours / week, up to 40 hours depending on performance
• Remote and asynchronous : Work on your own schedule
• Duration : Initial 1–2 months, with potential for extension
• Start : Early to mid-July; applications reviewed on a rolling basis

Interview Process

• AI-led interview covering your software engineering background
• Live screen-share task (~25 minutes) : Write a prompt on a technical topic and compare AI-generated responses
• Final selection based on prompt clarity , evaluation quality , and domain expertise

Compensation & Legal Details

• Rate : $70–$90 / hour, paid weekly via Stripe Connect
• Classification : Independent hourly contractor
