Job summary

Styx Intelligence Inc. in Vancouver is hiring a Software Developer to join our fast-growing cybersecurity team. The role is permanent and full-time, with a 30-hour work week, focusing on building Python modules, designing solutions with the lead architect, and implementing integrations via APIs.

You will work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch, optimize queries, and apply AI-assisted development tools to deliver robust software. Prior experience in AWS is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a significant programming component.
• 1–2 years of experience in software development or a similar role.
• Experience developing applications using AWS cloud services and integrating backend services with APIs.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch) and query optimization.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and integrating AI-enabled features.

Responsibilities

• Work with the lead architect on solution design and implementation.
• Build efficient Python modules for integration with third party systems.
• Write optimized SQL queries and maintain MySQL database instance.
• Take ownership of tasks from conception through post-release.
• Write robust, efficient, extensible, easily maintained code.
• Mentor junior programmers on development practices, architecture and design.

• Develop and maintain documentation of system configuration and support procedures.
• Prepare required documentation, including user-level documentation.
