Fidelity Canada invites applications for a Software Developer role with a 100% remote schedule. The position requires 2+ years in software development, a degree in CS/SE/Math/Econ or equivalent, and experience with Angular, Java, Git, and CI/CD in an Agile setting.

Canadian work authorization is required. Responsibilities include designing and delivering enterprise software, RESTful APIs, and system integrations, collaborating with product owners, QA, and other developers throughout the SDLC,

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics or Mathematics or equivalent working experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in financial services.
• Angular 19+ for modern web application development.
• Java for backend services and enterprise application development.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology (sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployment processes.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).

Responsibilities

• Define business requirements for each scrum/project and map end-to-end solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions.
• Liaise with internal user groups to program applications per requirements.
• Ensure functional specifications are implementable technically while innovating solutions.
• Be part of IS team focused on development and support of internal applications.
• Collaborate with peers and partners to deliver high-quality projects.

What You Will Do

Software Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains enterprise software applications, RESTful APIs, and system integrations. Working within an Agile/Scrum environment, the role collaborates closely with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. The developer participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement through CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Work with stakeholders, technology, and agile project managers to define business requirements for every scrum / project and map out end-to-end solutions
• Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements
• Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements
• Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions
• Be an integral part of the Information System’s team focused on the effective development and support of internal facing applications
• Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions that advance Fidelity’s position within the Mutual Fund Industry

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics or Mathematics or equivalent working experience
• 2+ years of experience in software development, preferable in the financial services/mutual fund/investment industry
• Angular 19+ for modern web application development
• Java for backend services and enterprise application development
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum methodology, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployment processes
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Nice to Have

• RESTful API design, development, integration, and support
• Progress 4GL/RDBMS application development and database management
• PostgreSQL, including database design, SQL development, and Stored Procedures
• Boomi for application integration, API management, and data synchronization between systems
• Experience working in the financial services and/or mutual fund industry, with knowledge of investment, fund administration, trading, or wealth management systems
• Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and productivity tools) to improve development efficiency and software quality

• Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus A competitive annual range of $101,000 to $118,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
