Job summary

Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking a Junior Software Developer for a Toronto, ON onsite role with a public sector client. You will contribute to designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software across the SDLC, translating specifications into working applications and ensuring data-driven functionality.

You will collaborate with IT and business stakeholders in an Agile environment, participate in migrations and deployments, and help troubleshoot issues while documenting technical work and

Qualifications

• Experience translating technical specifications into working, tested applications.
• Strong experience in software development, programming, coding, testing, debugging, and application maintenance.
• Experience throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using structured development methodologies.
• Experience with application design, deployment, troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution.
• Experience with Informatica IDMC/CDGC, Azure Data Platform, SQL Server, SQL, ETL, and data integration.
• Experience with Data Marketplace, Metadata Management, Data Governance, and API/Metadata Automation.
• Experience with Power BI and data-driven application development.
• Experience with relational and/or hierarchical database technologies and information retrieval using query languages.
• Experience collaborating with IT professionals, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
• Experience supporting implementation, conversion, migration, and post-implementation activities.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Experience documenting applications, technical specifications, and development activities.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes: developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.
• Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations.
